Newspaper Nails

I was sitting at home tonight wondering what to do with my nails and my fellow blogger friend Nails Tonic had a great mani called a newspaper mani! I have seen these mani's on the internet, on different sites and had always wondered how to do it. The whole process just involves you placing strips of newspaper on your dry nails and holding a alcohol soaked cotton ball on top for about a minute(while applying pressure). All we had in close proximity to me was the sports pages so NASCAR nails I did. I thought my boyfriend would think it was cool (which he did) if I chose to rep his favorite sport. I used OPI San Tan-Tonio from the Texas collection. I love this color I just wish I had more of a tan.

So happy with the way it turned out! Anyone else try this?

  5. Thank you and to answer your question I did not do a top coat before. When you do the newspaper it does take the shine away a bit. I applied a top coat after the newspaper and I was good to go. Once that print is on its on. I ate dinner before I cleared and washed my hands and it was still on there. Have fun!

  6. It looks great~ I've never tried it before.. did you put top coat before the newspaper soaking? Does the alcohol effect the shine of the polish?
