Max Factor Fantasy Fire (Clarins 230 Dupe!)

Image
So the lovely Claire did it once again! She got me one of the most beautiful polishes that I would have never been able to get my hands on. I can not thank her enough for sending me lovelies from across the pond! This polish is the elusive Max Factor Fantasy Fire. Fantasy Fire is an indigo jelly polish with the most beautiful color shifting glitter. You will see all the colors this beautiful polish flashes in my photos below. I took a lot of pics because I wanted to try and capture all the color changes. These photos are much different than my norm but you have to hold your hand in weird positions to get the color change effect. I also layered this polish over Revlon Royal which is not a flash friendly polish. I hope you   ♥ this polish as much as I do! Isn't is lovely?! I encourage you to click on the photos to make them larger because the polish really is that awesome. Now the only downside of these polishes is the size. They are tiny! Fantasy Fire comes in at a whoppin

Orly - Fowl Play

Image
Sorry for lack there of posts. I was under the weather but I am feeling great once again. Today I have to show you, Orly Fowl Play. I, like most lacquer heads had to have this polish when it first came out. I was not in luck finding it at Ulta as it was always sold-out every time I went there. I actually received this as a gift from the boyfriend for Christmas. I got it in the 3 pack set with Lucky Duck, Sweet Peacock, and Fowl Play. I have yet to try the rest but I love fowl play. I had it on a total of 5 days which in my world is A LOT! Fowl Play is a eggplant jelly polish with silver and blue glitter as well as some flakies! The flakies have the same color change effect as Essie Shine of the Times or Finger Paints Flashy. I am in love! Be sure to enter my Giveaway ! I added a few things to the Blog Sale last week!

Barry M - Croc Effects

Image
So this is a polish I purchased from Claire because my mom is in love with shatter and I thought she would like this polish a lot. I of course ordered a bottle for myself and have tested it out quite a few times but finally found an application I liked. I layered this polish over my Nails Inc. mani. The Nails Inc. is not why I had so much trouble with this Croc Effects polish I think it is all due to the consistency of the polish.    First off the polish has hardly any smell which is weird. The polish is very finicky and likes to be layered over wet polish which is where I had issues. I layered it over several different colored polishes and they all cracked different and none of them resembled crocodile. I then had a stroke of genius and decided to try it on my swatch wheel with a regular old clear polish. I actually chose Wet n Wild clear nail protector and layered a super thin layer of Barry M. Croc Effects. I waited about 45 seconds to layer my Croc Effects over the clear and it

A Belated Christmas Haul from Mom!

Image
So my parents already got me a Christmas gift but my mom just couldn't resist herself and sent some new polishes for me. I was so excited to get them and boy did it take me forever to unwrap them all. My mom lives about 4 hours away so I don't get to see her that often and she was going to come see me and bring the polishes but we changed plans. Instead me and the BF are going to go see her in a month or so. Anyways on to what she sent me! Ahh look at all those beauties! CND The Look Fall/Winter 2011 - Sheer 24k Sparkle Effect, Midnight Sapphire, Dark Amethyst CND Plum Truffle Collection - Truffle Sparkle Effect, Plum Truffle Essie Matte About You, Essie Ruby Slippers, Color Club Tattered In Gold OPI Save Me, Designer... De Better!, Metallic 4 Life Pretty cool haul huh? My mommy is the bestest! Be sure to check out my blog sale too I added some extras mom sent me.

Nails Inc. - Trafalgar Square (Magnetic)

Image
I have yet another polish I got for Christmas to show you today. I have Nails Inc. Trafalgar Square which is a chrome/black magnetic polish. I was a tad bit apprehensive to use the magnetic polish because I did not know if I would be able to do it right. I have to say that Nails Inc. makes it idiot proof to mess up this magnetic application. For application I applied one coat of Trafalgar Square. Then one nail  at a time I added a second coat and held the magnet on my finger for about 20 seconds. The magnet is actually in the cap of the polish that pulls off so you can use it better. As you can see in the photo above the bottle of polish looks like a normal bottle but below I will show it with the cap on. The Magnet is on top of the bottle and that lip you see on the top is to help you when you put the magnet up to your nail. The lip on the top acts as a rest for your nail base and allows you to get the magnet close without touching the nail. The Magnet! It makes a wavy pattern. Th

Glitter Gal - Light As A Feather

Image
Here is one of the beauties I received from my BF for Christmas. I also received Glitter Gal Lizard Belly which I will post soon. He knew I really wanted these two polishes and ordered them from Llarowe for me! I was beyond excited to open them on Christmas. Now I have heard from fellow bloggers that this polish is very sheer. The bottle of polish itself is so small so I decided to layer it over a more opaque color to cut down on the coats I would need. I did not have any colors that were close to the very light gray that Light As A Feather is but chose OPI Skull & Glossbones because I thought it would layer nicely. I think this polish is marketed as a white holo but white it is not. The holo is weaker in Light As A Feather as in Lizard Belly. Light As A Feather is a very demure holo but beautiful nonetheless. I am anxious to see the new Glitter Gals in the larger bottles but I am not excited for the prices.

Color Club - Revvvolution

Image
So since I started on my journey to polish addiction about six months ago I have wanted only one polish..OPI My Private Jet Black Holo. I don't have an extra $100 bucks lying around so I heard that Color Club Revvvolution satisfied some girls need for My Private Jet. I decided to try and get my hands on it and I found it for around $6 on ebay. After I actually bought this polish I started hearing rumors about a dud batch of Revvvolution that was not holo. I was so nervous to get my polish and it finally arrived yesterday. To my relief it was not a dud version and it is so beautiful. This is one coat of Revvvolution with a top coat of Seche. I was happy that this polish was so opaque in one coat. Lastly, we have a direct sunlight photo! My Verdict: While I still want MPJ holo this has held me over until I can afford it. I was really impressed with this polish and while it is not a OMG or a DS holo it is still equally beautiful. Hope you have a great weekend!

Zoya Jem & Finger Paints Motley

Image
So I have seen many swatches of the new Finger Paints flakies. Most of them have been over black so I decided to try a new combo. I layered Finger Paints Motley over Zoya Jem. Jem is beautiful on its own but when I added Motley it became beyond gorgeous! I really like all the Finger Paints flakies. They are all very unique and I plan on getting the other colors when I can afford it. I would say my only gripe with Motley and the other flakies is that it is not as dense as Essie Shine of the Times. I needed two coats of Motley for the photo below and would have needed 2 more coats to get the same effect Shine of the Times has in one coat. I am loving all the great flakie polishes that are out right now. Have you guys picked up any flakies and what are they?

My First Half Moon Mani with China Glaze OMG

Image
I actually got inspired to do this mani because of the polish group I follow on Facebook. Yesterday they had the Monday mani challenge and half moons were the challenge. I have never attempted this kind of mani before but I had all the things I needed for it so I decided to give it a go. I used the circle reinforcer to make the actually half moon. I started off with a base of China Glaze OMG then laid down my circle reinforcers and then painted on a quick coat of Wet n Wild Black Creme. To make the half moons crisp and clean you must remove the circle reinforcer off very quickly after painting the black. I have to say this is one of the easiest and quickest manis I have done. I also have to say that this is one of my favorite manis of all time. I can't stop staring at my nails. They look so long and dare I say..sexy! I think this was a very cool combo and now that I am confident in doing half moons I will be sure to try out again very soon.

Christmas and New Year Haul!

Image
As promised I have my haul from Christmas and the New Year as well. I have accumulated many polishes over the past few months and have more on the way to me as we speak. Thus why I started my Blog Sale . Well on to the polishes! This was all from Christmas and all from my wonderful boyfriend! I got from L-R: Nicole by OPI It's All About The Glam, Nails Inc. Trafalgar Square, Glitter Gal Light As A Feather, Lizard Belly, Orly Lucky Duck, Sweet Peacock, Fowl Play, and Salon Express Nail Stamping Kit. I picked up two of the Finger Paints Special Effects polishes Asylum and Motley. I also picked up China Glaze Champagne Bubbles and Orly Twilight. The last two might go to the blog sale. I am still on the fence about them which usually means I don't need them. Hope you enjoyed looking at my new pretties. I don't know what to show you first. I am open to suggestions!

Wet n Wild Week - Tickled Pink

Image
We have finally arrived at the end of Wet n Wild week. This last polish was favorite of mine because I used it in my B-Day mani this past year. Of course I have to show my birthday mani. This was my first attempt at real nail art and it turned out so well. I was one happy birthday girl. Sorry this was such a short post and so late as well but I was up late last night revamping the blog so I was anti-laptop today. I hope you like all the changes I made and I am especially proud of those new social media icons I made that are fashioned after OPI bottles. I will get my Christmas/after X-mas haul up tomorrow. Wet n Wild Week - Hush Hush

Image
Check out my Blog Sale! So I was not sure what to think about this polish when I got it. It looked liked an eggshell white in the bottle so I was nonetheless impressed by it. This was until I put this beauty on my nails. Wet n Wild Hush Hush is a beautiful eggshell white jelly polish. I love the application on this polish because it dries quickly and doesn't drag between coats. This was three coats of Hush Hush and you can still see my nail line a bit. I used this polish over the holidays to create a jelly sandwich using China Glaze Party Hearty. I have another layering combo I would like to use with it if I could get in the winter spirit. I want to used Wet n Wild Hush Hush and the blue glitter OPI from the Muppet's Collection (The name escapes me now!). I think it would be an icy combo - no pun intended. This time last year we had about 3 snowstorms already. This year none. This past weekend highs were in the 70's and while I am not complaining about our rash of good

Wet n Wild Week - Back Alley Deals

Image
Be sure to check out my Blog Sale! Here is another great Wet n Wild polish that is actually up for grabs in my blog sale. I swatched this polish quite some time ago and I never fell in love with it honestly. It seemed as thought we were over-ran with glitter polishes this past fall and I personally am over it. Although this polish is beautiful I had a few out of the Ice Baby collection that I do happen to love. What were your favorites from this collection? Mine is Diamond In The Rough.

Guess What I'm Having...A Blog Sale!!!

Head on over to my blog sale page here to take a look at all the goodies I have up for sale. Happy Shopping!

Wet n Wild Week - Dream Poppy

Image
Out of my growing stash I would say pinks is the most reoccurring. I love pink for spring and summer and year round on my toes. It is kind of funny because I would put just about any color on my hands(and I almost have) but I really only put different shades of pink on my toes or a great DIY french mani. You will not catch me with black or blue toes. I always tell my mom it looks like your dead with blue or black toenails. I am divulging too much. You probably think I am nuts now so onto the polish. This is Wet n Wild Dream Poppy. This is a beautiful pinky coral creme polish. I say pinky coral because I have many corals now and some of them are pinky-coral and some are orangey-coral. This was two coats of Dream Poppy with no topcoat because it is shiny on its own! BIG NEWS!! Hopefully later this evening I will have my blog sale up! This is my first blog sale and I am ready to purge some polish. I have around 20 polishes (mostly salon brands!) to sell so check back later! Follow Wet

Wet n Wild Week - Disturbia

Image
Disturbia!!!! Okay so all I can think about when I see this polish is the Rihanna song with the same name. It makes me want to break out into song but I do not wish to show off (sarcasm). This was my first experience with the Wet n Wild Megalast line and was anxious to try them out. The bottle are a bit smaller than the usual Wet n Wild but the bottle feels more stable if that makes any sense. The brush on these is surprisingly very nice. Naturally the brush is going to be smaller in a smaller bottle of polish but this one is very easy to use. It is curved on both sides and is semi flat so you know which way to hold it. This was two coats of Disturbia and one coat of Seche. I love the subtle shimmer and the purple is gorgeous. Wet n Wild Week - The Gold & The Beautiful

Image
Wet n Wild Week continues. The polish I am showing you today is The Gold & The Beautiful. This is a perfect gold glitter polish. It is fairly dense as far as glitter goes. This gold polish is a touch lighter than Sinful Colors All About You but they are fairly similar. This is two coats of The Gold & The Beautiful. This polish name is obviously a play on The Bold & The Beautiful soap opera. I personally have never watched that show but I do find myself sucked into some soaps here and there. It is one of my guilty pleasures among many. I have a thing for horrible reality shows as well but that is another day! Wet n Wild Week - Believe Me, It's Real

Image
So enough of being lazy! I am back with Wet n Wild Week. I have so many un-trieds in my stash and the majority of them are Wet n Wilds. Not because I don't like them but because I have so many of them. Now when Wet n Wild announced the Color Icon Ice Baby Collection I was stalking my Walgreen's until I got my hands on them. I had my choice of all the colors but only ended up choosing three. I have to limit myself somewhere. I also would have bought more but for the price I thought they were pretty small. That all being said I love the colors I picked out. This polish is Believe Me, It's Real which is a fine deep blue glitter with small purple glitter mixed in. These are my two favorite colors in one polish so it is a win! This is three coats of Believe Me, It's Real and one coat of Seche. What polishes did you end up picking from this collection?
